Our Packages

We have a number of group packages available, offering a wide range of options to suit your group's specific needs and interests. Take a look below at what we can offer your group to make your visit a full and unique experience.

Standard Garden Visit

Our standard package includes a self-led visit to the walled garden, hall gardens and parkland trails. This option is perfect for those wishing to take a visit at their own pace. Within the walled garden, journey through the arresting perennial meadow, and take time to enjoy the calm of the entirely green ‘silent garden’. Beyond the walls, the traditional hall gardens and ‘Capability’ Brown parkland offer beautiful walks and stunning views. Highlights include the Palladian Bridge and lakes brimming with wildlife. Trails through the gardens and parkland are clearly marked, and Scampston staff will be on hand to advise you about the best route to take.

£8 per person

Private Full Garden Tour

We can provide your group with a full guided tour of the walled garden with either our Head Gardener or Assistant Head Gardener. Lasting around an hour, the tour will take your group around key aspects of the walled garden, providing an in-depth insight into its history, design, planning and maintenance . This is a great option for horticultural and garden groups and is suitable for up to 25 people.

£120 per tour (this price is in addition to entry)

Combined Visit with Jackson’s Wold Garden

This package is perfect for the truly green-fingered groups and combines a self-led visit to Scampston Walled Garden with Jackson’s Wold Garden, a beautiful private garden situated perfectly on top of the Wolds. The garden offers the perfect juxtaposition to the contemporary planting at Scampston, with a traditional design intended to sit in harmony within the surrounding countryside. With stunning views and a warm welcome from the Cundall family, many of our groups return year-on-year to visit both gardens. Just 9 miles from Scampston, we can help you organise a visit to both (available May-July).

£18 per person (add an extra £6 for tea & cake at Jackson’s Wold)

Gardens & Private Hall Tour

Along with a self-led visit to the walled garden and grounds, this package provides something a little more special for your group. A private guided tour of the hall, exclusively for your group, can be arranged for the morning or afternoon, and can be organised both in and out of the Hall opening period (available between April & October). Groups are welcomed by our house Butler, Craig, before being led around the hall by one of our expert guides, lasting around 45 minutes. This package is perfect for those with special interests in history, art & antiques, or for those who enjoy visiting stately homes.

£17.50 per person

Private Intro Garden Tour

This package offers a 20-minute introduction to the walled garden’s history and design with either our Head Gardener or Assistant Head Gardener. Taking your group on a whistle-stop tour of the plantsman’s walk and finishing in the perennial meadow, this short tour is perfect for those who would like a brief overview of the garden. The tour is suitable for up to 25 people; however, we can split your group into two separate parties if your group is larger.

£60 per tour (this price is in addition to entry)

Combined Visit with Birdsall House

For those with a special interest in heritage, this option offers joint private tours of both Scampston Hall and Birdsall House. Set majestically in an open valley on the edge of the Wolds, the historic Birdsall House was originally built in the mid-16th century. It houses a treasure trove of stunning art and antiques that have been collected over the last 500 years by the Willoughby family. Along with a self-led visit to Scampston Walled Garden and a private tour of Scampston Hall, this option includes a private tour with tea and biscuits at Birdsall House (subject to availability).

£35 per person

Information & Tips

Timings for your visit

We recommend allocating at least two hours to visit the walled garden. This will allow time for refreshments in our garden café. If your group would like to have a guided tour of the hall and explore the parkland trails, we recommend a further two hours.

Our hall tours last approximately 45 minutes and are suitable for up to 20 people. Larger groups can be split into two parties.

Group Rates

Discounted group rates apply to pre-booked parties of 15 people or more. Within this price, the group will be met by a member of the team and each person will be given our garden guide. We also offer discounted catering options from our group menu. Special dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice.

Access for coaches

We are easily accessible, being only half a mile from the A64 Scarborough/Leeds road. Our free coach park is less than 100 yards from the entrance to the walled garden.

Disabled Visitors

The walled garden and café are accessible for disabled visitors. We have both a manual and motorised wheelchair available to hire; please contact us to book these ahead of time.
