After meeting we will use a variety of methods to collect and identify minibeasts including
butterflies, bees, snails and slugs. You will head into the walled garden to complete the Big
Butterfly Count. Families will work together to create a caterpillar habitat and you can take away eggs/caterpillars in your habitat and hopefully watch them grow into a butterfly.
The session will end with a campfire snack.
About Wildlife Club
A monthly club for families. These sessions will offer a wide range of hands-on fun and adventurous wildlife and environmental activities, as well as the opportunity for
outdoor play, craft and games.
They are designed to offer the chance to experience nature first hand, try new and exciting challenges and learn ‘outdoor’ skills. The club is primarily aimed at families with children aged 5-12, (younger siblings may attend, at parents and leaders discretion, but will need a ticket if they will be joining in with activities). Children must be accompanied by at least one adult.
This year the club will aim to cover as many of the National Trusts ‘50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ activities’.
