Traditional Crewel Embroidery Workshop

10am - 4pm

Work a piece of traditional embroidery inspired by a bedspread from Scampston Hall

Join Amanda Cater for an embroidery workshop based on a bedspread here at Scampston. The type of embroidery is crewel embroidery worked in wool on linen and uses traditional stitching such as stem stitch, fly stitch and french knots.

Suitable for all abilities, from beginners to more experienced stitchers.

This workshop costs £54.00 and includes:

- A kit of all materials with full detailed step-by-step instructions
- Tuition by Amanda Carter, a former student at the Royal School of Needlework
- Tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout the day

Additional equipment such as hoops and scissors will be provided for the workshop.

Lunch is not included but can be ordered from Scampston Garden Café or alternatively, please bring your own packed lunch. To pre-book lunch from the cafe, please contact The Bothies directly on 01944 753105 or email thebothies@scampston.co.uk before 4th June

About the Course Leader

Amanda Carter is a former student at the Royal School Needlework. As well as teaching embroidery workshops, Amanda designs and sells her own kits (www.quiltdragonkits.com) and has regularly appeared on the craft channel ‘The Craft Store’.

To book your place, please click on the link shown where you will also find details of booking terms and conditions. https://www.quiltdragonkits.com/embroidery-workshops.html If you cancel a booking: within 4 weeks of the workshop start date no refund or transfer will be given unless we can fill your place from a waiting list. prior to 4 weeks of the workshop start date, a refund will be given less a £10 administration fee per person per workshop, or a transfer will be offered. If we cancel a workshop a full refund of monies paid or option to transfer to another course will be offered. Pease note that if you book accommodation in relation to a workshop/course etc, please ensure that you are able to cancel should the need arise. Quilt Dragon Kits cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred with the booking of your accommodation in the event of a workshop cancellation
