The Exhibition
Carolyn’s exhibition at Scampston has been produced over the last couple of years during the pandemic. Her vibrant use of acrylic, watercolour and ink create unique moods and textures in a semi-abstract style that the viewer will never tire from.
For this exhibition, Carolyn has taken inspiration from both her local area and further afield around Britain. The varied landscape found in Yorkshire with the sea, coast, and countryside have provided endless references for her work and make this exhibition both unique and well worth a view.
About Carolyn Taylor
Carolyn lives in the beautiful Wolds village of Newbald in East Yorkshire and has always taken a keen interest in the arts. Becoming a self-taught artist in 2014, Carolyn uses feeling and interpretation to paint her stunning surroundings of the Yorkshire countryside and beyond.
In 2020, Carolyn was awarded runner up in The Mail competition “Glorious Britain in Spring”, in which she illustrated light and brightness in the worrying times during covid lockdown. This accolade gave Carolyn the confidence to explore her art further and to run a successful Open Studio.
